Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Dotty’s websites (dotty.ai, app.dotty.ai) and the Dotty invoice and client portal (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Dotty helps freelancers and small teams create and manage invoices, invite clients, and collect payments. Features may change as we improve the product. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@dotty.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Roles
The Service may assign roles (for example, admin and client). Admins are responsible for invitations and data they enter about their clients. Clients may only access information and actions permitted for their role.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully or to harm others;
- attempt to breach security, probe vulnerabilities beyond good-faith disclosure, or disrupt the Service;
- send spam or misleading communications through the Service;
- reverse engineer or scrape the Service except as allowed by law;
- use the Service to process illegal transactions or launder funds.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
5. Your content
You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us a license to host, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service (including backups, security monitoring, and support). You represent that you have the rights needed to submit client and invoice data.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees, taxes, and payout timing follow Stripe’s rules and your Stripe configuration. We are not a bank. Invoice and payment status in the Service should reflect provider webhooks; discrepancies should be reported to support.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates third parties (for example, Supabase, Stripe, Resend). Their terms and privacy policies also apply where you use those features.
8. Intellectual property
Dotty’s name, logo, and the Service’s look and feel are our property or our licensors’. Do not use our branding in a confusing or misleading way.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that invoice or tax outcomes are correct for your jurisdiction—consult a professional for accounting or legal advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Dotty nor its suppliers will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for claims arising from the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of one hundred (100) USD or the fees you paid us for the Service in that period (if any). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Dotty against claims arising from your content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk, or legal requirements. Provisions that by nature should survive (including Sections 6, 8–12) will survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Dotty’s operating entity, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country say otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive venue, subject to those protections.
14. Changes
We may modify these Terms. We will post the updated Terms and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
